  • January 21, This article is more than 2 years old. When people go to bars, they generally expect that the worst thing that will happen is a next-day hangover and a craving for greasy food. But for many women and LGBT people, it can be hard to have a simple night out without confronting uncomfortable situations and unwanted advances. Difficult as it may be for bars to recognize the responsibility they have to protect women and other potentially vulnerable groups, they have a moral obligation to do so.

  • And this week, news spread that Hooters—an establishment not typically associated with feminist causes—is trying out a new way to make sure its patrons feel safe. Do you feel unsafe, or even just a little bit weird? Just go to the bar and order an angel shot. While Hooters has not issued an official statement on the Angel Shot, hundreds of locations posted the sign in their bathrooms as the photograph spread on social media. The sign is almost identical to one posted in Iberian Rooster , a restaurant in St. Petersburg, Florida, which was in turn inspired by a sign plastered in restaurants and bars throughout Lincolnshire, England as part of a city campaign to raise awareness about sexual assault. Clearly, customers approve of these efforts—as is evident from the huge response such signs have received on social media.

  • Women like Sara Benincasa have also praised restaurants and bars that train their staff to spot harassment and intervene on behalf of vulnerable patrons. But it is a step in the right direction, demonstrating that a restaurant industry giant recognizes the risks that its environment can pose to customers, and that it has a responsibility to prevent sexual abuse. This could bode well for future efforts in the hospitality industry to tackle rape culture. But sexual assault occurs beyond the ivory tower—so sexual assault prevention must, too. Every sexual assault prevention strategy inevitably stirs up questions and criticism—all of which is necessary and even helpful when attempting to create change. Still, there are some questions without any good answers, among them: Who goes to Hooters on a first date?

  • If you're applying for a job at a prominent restaurant, you will have to jump through several hoops before getting hired. The hiring process at most retail corporations and restaurants is as follows: Apply online and submit your resume and cover letter. Complete a preliminary telephone or video interview. In the case of a video interview, you may be sent a list of questions to which you must record your answers. The goal of the preliminary interview is simply to identify potential candidates, so show why you are qualified for the position and you will move on to the next round of the hiring process. You will be asked basic screening questions. Take a pre-employment assessment test. This psychometric test may evaluate your numerical reasoning skills, verbal skills, or logical reasoning skills. You may take a personality test, especially if you are applying for a managerial role or a client-facing position.

  • Alternatively, it may be a technical test, such as a clerical skills test for those seeking a position as an administrative assistant. The second interview may be a group interview, a panel interview, or a one-on-one interview. You may be interviewed by a Human Resources manager, your future boss, or a peer. If you are in a group interview, remember not to appear competitive. Answer questions using the S. Prepare to answer questions about your experience and career goals. For some positions, especially upper-level positions, you may have an additional interview with HR. At some companies, this interview is a mere formality, whereas others seek to build a more comprehensive profile of your personality and management style based on the information you provide at this interview. Generally, the questions that you will be asked at your interviews will be situational and behavioral in nature. That is, you will be asked how you acted in a specific situation in the past, as well as how you anticipate that you would behave in hypothetical scenarios.

  • Aim to convey that you are positive, action-oriented, sensitive, and flexible. Here are a few position-specific tips for interviews: If you are applying for a sales position, you may be asked to pitch a product. For marketing roles, you will be asked about the company's product, challenges, and market. Future managers will be asked about challenges they have faced, their managerial style, and how they handle difficult situations. Those seeking a position in finance will be quizzed on their understanding of the industry and their technical knowledge. For customer service roles, be prepared to answer a variety of situational questions relating to your integration with customers.

  • You made so many good points. Snorkle club would be a big draw no matter where it was located. We have only been to a Hooters once.. It was for a small going away "party". The service was horrible. Our waitress spent most of her time with her child that some how was at the restaurant while mommy was working. The food was terrible. But the men in our group outnumbered the females so if you wanted to participate in the goodbyes then you went to Hooters.

  • Upon leaving, our waitress came out into the parking lot, grabbed the smallest female in our group and demanded more of a tip! We advised her to please remove her hand from our friend. She responded with bursts of profanity and demanded that not only we leave but never come back. The clincher was her threat that if we did not leave, she'd call the Sheriff! Maybe other Hooters are better but this was not a great representation certainly. Report inappropriate content.

  • Apparently working at Hooters involves a lot of training, studying, and tests. I feel like I'm at school again. Only school for vain women. So I have now completed 3 days of my 5 day training period. So Day 1: I am working a night shift. So I have all day to get myself "photoshoot ready". I do my hair, I think it's meh. I finish my make up with some natural looking eye shadow and not too much eyeliner. I don't want to look like a hooker after all. So I pull on my skin tight panty hose, my teeny shorts and shirt, and then of course get dressed again on top of that remember we have to be completely covered on the way in and out of the restaurant I walk in the door and obviously no one knows why this scrubby girl just walked in alone, and no one talks to me.

  • I finally see one of the managers and he takes me into the office. He does the mundane things like photo copying my alcohol serving certification. I find that a little upsetting and kinda gross. Anyway he goes and gets me a new black uniform since the other one was too small. Although when I said they were too small he looked at me like I was crazy Regardless I have to go change into the black one since it's Wingsday.

  • I put all my stuff into the TBC Taking Care of Beauty vomits in mouth a lil and he tells me to sit at this table, meet some of the girls, and wait for my trainer. I'll call her 'R'. Here is what I observed: 1. Seriously the like 'famous' promo girl from our restaurant has hair below her butt. Some girls think they are working at a strip club 4. The girls somehow make these tiny shorts go so far up their butts that their cheeks hang out. I don't see how guys could possibly find wedgies attractive, but I guess they must. Every girl thinks that she knows the most about everything I was suddenly alone at these two tables where like 10 girls were before I got there. So in case I wasn't awkward, now I'm really uncomfortable. I decide to start talking to them and maybe they will stop ignoring me. One girl comes up and I ask if she is "R". And she looked at me like I was retarded and said "Why would you ask me that?
